PACE News

January 2010

  • Three of our members, Alex, Jagjit and Michael, have improved their skills in Boccia to the extent that they have been invited to attend the Paralympics Potential Talent Assessment at Bath University to see if they could be potential gold medal winners at the paralympics. This is an exciting and once in a lifetime opportunity for them. They will be tested on their coaching, decision making and match play skills. We all wish them every success.

November 2009

  • Congratulations to four of our volunteers, Louise, Harjit, Prabhjeet and Amrit who receive their 100 Hours of Volunteering Award at the Ramada Hotel by Ealing Common.

Revision begins for the Question of PACE Sport Quiz taking place on 19 December.

October 2009

  • Congratulations go to Reuben Parkinson who has received the Jack Petchey Award. He has done extremely at PACE, particularly over the last year. Reuben is developing an ambulant football team of which he will be Captain. He has chosen to buy football kit with his award.

September 2009

  • Brilliant news, both Reuben Parkinson and Jagjit Chuk have obtained their Football Assistant Coaching Level 1 Award. They achieved this through the Coachability Programme run by London Sports Forum for Disabled People. This is the first step for PACE towards developing two football teams, ambulant and power wheelchair football. Krishan will be overseeing this development and guiding Reuben and Jagjit through the process.

The annual Pace for PACE fundraising event takes place in Southall Park. It’s well attended with some members having enough energy to complete two laps. A big ‘THANK YOU’ to all our supporters.

August 2009

  • The trip to the gruesome London Dungeons took place.

June 2009

  • The PACE Boccia Squad compete in the South Playoff in Reading. The matches were very close with PACE being millimetres away from qualifying through to the finals in Nottingham. Well played Team!
