PACE Boccia vs Brimsdown Gotchas

Published March 11, 2014

The PACE A and PACE B have both completed their home and away fixtures against The Brimsdown Gotchas.

PACE A fielded a strong starting line up, with three athletes, Alex, Reshad and Jagjit, on the England Talent Pathway. Both matches were incredibly close, with the first one finishing 6-5 to PACE. The athletes were happy with this result, however they were hoping for more points to put themselves in a good position in the league.

The Brimsdown Gotchas fielded a slightly different team for their second game. The changes made a difference as they took five out of six ends. PACE A demonstrated effective defensive play to only loose these ends 1-0, however the athletes were incredibly disappointed as missed opportunities resulted in the final score line reading 5-3 to the Brimsdown Gotchas. Credit to their team, their performance improved and they deserved the win.

After the game, PACE A Team Captain, Alex Dukes said…

We could have scored more points but are looking forwards to the next game. Thank you to everybody who came to support us. Hopefully, we will get a few more fans coming to our next game.

PACE B fixtures against The Brimsdown Gotchas marked the return of Sandip to the squad. Having been unavailable for training or selection for the last 6 months, Sandip and Arti, with Hitesh as the captain started off their league fixtures with a 6-4 win. A fantastic performance from all the athletes, who are clearly working hard and hoping to take the place of one of the PACE A team athletes.

Buoyed by the first game, their second performance in the away fixture was even better, with the athletes turning on the style to win 11-2. Some fantastic leadership along with a high level of skill resulted in PACE B taking five out of six ends. The athletes also demonstrated excellent decision making, scoring 11 points to put themselves ahead of PACE A in the National League Table.

After the game, PACE B Team Captain, Hitesh Ladwa said…

We’re all very pleased with how we played and are looking forwards to our next match.
