Published June 20, 2017

Congratulations to Reshad Saraj, who has been awarded the Boccia England “Athlete of the Year” award. Reshad was presented the award at the recent BE Cup competition in May, where he finished in second place and gained qualification for the GB Championships, to be held in August.

Reshad is the first athlete from PACE to receive this award, and it is well deserved!  Here are a few of his major achievements from the last season;

  • Winning gold at the Polska Boccia Open, Poznan.
  • Winning gold at the BE Cup finals in 2016
  • Winning gold at the Heathcoat finals in 2016
  • Winning gold at the Scottish Boccia open in 2016

On receiving the award Reshad said:

“It’s a huge honour to receive this award. It’s always nice for your achievements to be recognized. As each competition goes not only do I play the games against athletes  more importantly I learn about myself more and how I pull through difficult games but still reach my target area. I just want to thank everyone who has contributed especially Sunil and Krishna from PACE, and a special thank you to Nigel and Sylvia and of course my Mum and Step Dad for taking and supporting me through the highs and lows of each competition”.
