Reshad Wins Bronze in Poznan

Published September 7, 2022

PACE is delighted to announce that one of its Boccia athletes, Reshad Saraj, has won a Bronze medal at the Poznan World Challenger Event 2022 which took place from 22nd to 29th August at the Poznan University of Technology, where the some internationally ranked athletes from across the world were competing.

This was Reshad’s second international competition with the GB Boccia Team, having recently just competed in Rio De Janeiro at the Boccia World Cup competitions.

Reshad, of course, is no stranger to pressure in his Boccia career, often producing his best results when facing immense pressure and being the underdog. This time, he was determined to medal, which he did, winning his first international medal for GB, and a first for PACE Boccia, Reshad won a Bronze medal in his 3rd/4th place playoff against Czech Republic’s Frantisek Petrak, beating him 4-0.

Reflecting on the competition, Reshad said:

It was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster at times. But I held my nerve when it mattered to grab the bronze and I’m so pleased to have achieved it. A lot of hard work went into this and I’ll remember the experience for a long time.”

Congratulations to Reshad! Reshad wins Bronze at Poznan
