PACE Members Celebrate Success at Jack Petchey Awards

Published February 21, 2020

At PACE we are always inspired by each and every one of our members as they strive to be the best they can be – whether that is outside of PACE or at our MSL and Boccia Saturday sessions.

Throughout 2019, in partnership with the Jack Petchey Foundation – who have been one of longest running supporters of PACE since our inception in 2004 –  five of our members received the Jack Petchey Achievement Award for making a positive contribution and impact to PACE as a whole.

“Jack Petchey Achievement Award winners are young people who have gone above and beyond to achieve – perhaps when others thought they might fail.”

Arinze, Chirag, Fahd Mitchell, Aiden, and last but not least Amardeep all received the Jack Petchey Award last year. As a result, they were all formally invited to the Greenford Town Hall to receive their Jack Petchey Medal. It was a great chance to get together and celebrate everyone’s amazing success at PACE and also to be able to share that success with several schools across the London Borough of Ealing.

However, it is not just our members who continue to inspire us. Our volunteers, who are the bedrock of PACE, who embody the ethos of independence through the power of sport. . No one personifies this more than Gurbachan, who always has a positive attitude and encourages our members to go that extra mile. Coupled these qualities with his dry sense of humour, which makes everyone feel at ease, we couldn’t think of anyone better, and were therefore were incredibly proud when he received the Team Leaders Award.

It was an amazing night full of inspirational stories of young people having a positive influence on their school or club. Plus, they are several stunning solo performances intimated throughout the 90 minute show. Congratulations to all the winners!
