Reshad Saraj selected to be part of the England Talent Squad

Published October 17, 2013

Congratulations to Reshad Saraj, who has been selected to be a part of the Boccia England Talent Squad Year 1.

He will be joining Ramandeep and Jagjit, as yet another PACE Boccia athlete enters the Talent Squad, hoping to earn themselves an England spot.

Reshad had a strong first season last year, he worked hard, spent a lot of time training, was committed to PACE Boccia, overcame various barriers and started to make a name for himself.

This resulted in him finishing second in the London Regionals, qualifying for the National Finals.

Strong performances in the National Finals lead him to the quarter finals, where he gained valuable match experience against top athletes.

His tense match against Zoe Robinson is one that will be remembered for many years to come!

Reshad has Paralympic aspirations and this is certainly a step in the right direction for him.

When asked about how he felt, Reshad said…

I have been working very hard to get myself noticed. I wouldn’t have got there without the knowledge and support of Sunil and the support of my mother, who has taken me to various training camps and sessions. I’m very lucky to have her support. This news is making me more motivated to reach my goals. Thank you to PACE, Krishna and all of the volunteers that have given me a chance and believed in me.

Well done!

Well done Reshad, you deserve this in recognition of your effort last season.

Still a long way to go to reach your goals but, I’m sure you’ll put the work in to get there.

Congratulations Reshad, you’ve worked hard and it has all paid off. You’re on the first rung of the ladder, so keep up with the training, focus and do the very best you can each time. Well done.
