PACE deliver Boccia at Wheelpower Sports Festival

Published December 1, 2023

Earlier this month, PACE supported WheelPower, the national charity for Wheelchair sport, to deliver boccia at their Sports Festival held at the Aspire Sports Leisure Centre in Stanmore. The sports festival provided a fun-filled day of inclusive sporting activity for participants of all ages and abilities.

PACE delivered a bespoke fun, competitive and challenging session, focusing on the core fundamentals of Boccia – how to improve your throwing technique and getting to grips with how to control the pace and power of the Boccia balls.

PACE Coach, Alex Dukes arrived at the Sports Day event, set up a specially designed Boccia court, and began welcoming participants to take part in the activities. All the activities ensured that everyone – from complete beginners to seasoned players – felt included and able to participate.

WheelPower, founded in Stoke Mandeville, the birthplace of the Paralympics, has helped thousands of people with disabilities achieve their dreams through the power of sport. Here at PACE, we share similar ideals and aspirations for our members so it was an absolute privilege to collaborate with WheelPower and help make the sports festival a great success.
