Chirag claims first medal at the boccia Heathcoat Cup

Published February 24, 2023

On Saturday the 18th of February, up-and-coming PACE B Boccia athlete, Chirag Shah competed in the Heathcoat Cup East. Since joining PACE Boccia two years ago, Chirag has shown an incredible, dedicated work ethic to improve his game. From communication with his ramp assistant, purchasing his own boccia equipment, and responding positively to feedback from coaches.

The progression Chirag has shown is evident for everyone to see at PACE these past 18 months. In sport however, medals and trophies are the true indicators of progress, and Chirag, we’re pleased to say, has achieved his first boccia medal, a bronze, at the Heathcoat Cup in Brentwood.

The Heathcoat Cup had over 30 athletes at the competition. Chirag was competing in the BC3 category – arguably the most competitive and this was his second Boccia event. Going into it, although Chirag was undoubtedly nervous, he played an excellent tournament.

Congratulations Chirag on your first – and hopefully many more – Boccia medals!
