PACE Win MTM Award for Excellence and Achievement

Published December 18, 2019

PACE is thrilled to announce it has been awarded the MTM Award for Excellence and Achievement in recognition of the fantastic work PACE has delivered in the community, through all our volunteers and coaches, past and present, since PACE begun way-back in 2004.

The MTM Awards were created to give a platform to the Asian, Black and Ethnic Minorities, showcasing their potential, excellence and achievements in Business, Community, Arts and Entertainment.  It is the only awards ceremony of this type in the South West.

Some of the senior PACE Team Leaders went to the ceremony, along with the Head of PACE Krishna Birdy – who was also nominated and shortlisted for Role Model of the Year.

After winning the Award, Krishna said:

This Award for Excellence and Achievement is a testimony to all the time and effort our volunteers have put into PACE, allowing its members to actively participate in sports and physical activity and providing opportunities for them to excel whether it be at grassroots level or international level, with the latest success being in the Polish International Boccia Championships where one of our athletes qualified for a silver medal in Poznan.

PACE is not just a sports club for disabled people but a community where the dedication, encouragement and empathy of all its volunteers throughout the years, have enabled its members to achieve and go beyond expectations society may have had of them. The high quality of delivery our coaches and volunteers provide has increased the demand for our services and has meant that since we began in 2004, over 8,000 people have benefitted from PACE sports and physical activity programs.

Thank you to all who voted for us and support us.”
